According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, my country's export volume of steel pipes (including steel products) will show significant growth in 2024. For example, in October 2024, my country's export volume of steel products (including steel pipes) was 11.182 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 40.8%, and the growth rate was 14.9 percentage points higher than the previous month. From January to October, my country's steel export volume reached 91.893 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 23.3%.

Recently, my country's steel pipe export quotations have fallen. Compared with the prices of other major exporting countries, my country's steel pipe export price advantage has increased. For example, as of November 5, 2024, China's hot-rolled coil export quotation (FOB) was US$497/ton, which is lower than the export quotations of India, Turkey, CIS and other countries. This price advantage will provide certain support for my country's steel pipe exports in the future.

In 2024, my country's welded pipe export volume will increase significantly, but the export value has dropped significantly. This is mainly due to the fact that welded pipe companies mostly exchange price for volume and adopt the operation method of small profits but quick turnover. From the perspective of export regions, my country's welded pipe exports are mainly to developing countries such as Southeast Asia and South America.
